The Reverend Brother Khang-Fré-Y' spent two (2) tours in the Republic of South Viet-Nam in the late 1960's, where, at the base of the Buddha's Monument in the Thich Ca Phat Dai at Vung-Tau, he met his Dhaóist Master: Ahl Mhunn Dhyrr. After being Honorably Discharged from the US Army in November of 1968, he entered the Buddhist Seminary located in the coastal Santa Cruz mountains of California, where he was awarded a Doctorate of Divinity, and was Ordained on the 13th of August, 1971, as a Dhaó Whú Priest of the Khó-N'gha Dhaó Sect. In December of 1982 he was elected HeadMaster of this particular Religious Order: The WAY of ONE - Khó-N'gha Dhaó. He facilitates the KDRO Reference Library, Official Publishing Organ of this Religious Order, in Grass Valley, California.

Brother Fré obtained an Associates of Arts, Majoring in Asian Studies, from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California, where he also did tutoring and substitute teaching in Asian Studies, under the Korean expert, the Honorable Mrs Evelyn McCune. He has recently completed a translation of the 1224 ce. Khúl-lha Khan exposition of the Terma Khó-N'gha Dhaó - The Book of ONEness, the sacred text of Khó-N'gha Dhaó. He is now working on a translation of the 1324 ce. Terma Wei Bóyang.

In September and October of 2001, Brother Fré made a pilgrimage to India, where he paid his spiritual respects at the Sikh's Golden Temple in Amritsar, and to the Dalai Lama at Dharmsala. He also made the arduous two-day trek up the 25 kilometers to 8,100 foot high Thólung Gómpa, in Northern Sikkim, the Sect-wide recognized traditional Spiritual Headquarters of the Khó-N'gha Dhaó Sect outside China.
